this is jake's wife's sister's husband's friend's wife abbie. she is also on our staff team this summer at hampton beach.
as soon as i saw this location (the fire exit stairwell at our hotel this weekend) i knew i wanted to shoot there. it reminded me to keep my eye out for interesting backgrounds/lighting/etc...

i'm noticing more and more how much i rely on post processing...the blue snow is killing me in this one. but i do like the subtle diffused off camera flash effect to make the bike pop a little.

Jake and I (and Mark and Isaac (and whoever else wants to)) have a new challenge. We can only take one shot per day and have to upload straight from the camera with no post processing. Any subject matter.
About this photo: one can only assume he was beat up for wearing a red headband. Tech details: exposed ambient -1 stop, handheld sb800 at +2 shot through lumiquest softbox III (best $40 flash accessory) camera left. In an elevator.

i was the head photographer at our "radiate" winter conference this year. this is one of about 50 shots from my camera (i used it sparingly since i had a D3 rented). i also took 1500 shots with the D3 but i'm waiting on some of those to post because i dumped them onto our regional office's hard drive. i'll fill in 12/29-12/31 when i get those other pics.

i got a magnifying desk lamp for christmas that i modified into a cfl ringlight by removing the magnifying lens...it's pretty awesome.
